Biden barked at me.
I spent this past week in North Carolina, soaking up the rain and admiring the cotton and tobaccy fields. I was fortunate enough to speak with running for Senate Dem. Kay Hagen, running against Liddy Dole, I spoke with economists and environmentalists about drilling off the outter banks, and I even had a chance to ask the donkeys themselves! In Greensboro I got the chance to see Obama and Biden, the first time I've seen them on the same stage. This was extremely exciting, it always is. I enjoy the live rallies most of all. My adreniline sky rockets and I say to myself, "I'm gonna get a question." It's challenging, it can be painful, and either extremely rewarding or disappointing.

I squeezed my way all the way to the front row through what seemed like thousands and got to shake hands with Obama and Biden, Obama for the sixth time and Biden for the second. (The first time I saw Biden was a little too intimate for me, no slobber please). Anyways, I got some great pictures I'll see if I can post, but I asked both of them about offshore drilling. First, Obama. His response consisted of something along the lines of drilling being a temporary solution while our country continues to develop alternative energy sources. The intense pressure from all angles from adoring fans and supporters can make focusing a little difficult, so excuse the lack of an exact quote.

Next was Biden. Um... are they on the same page? When I asked Biden, first I got a terrible look from him, which was polar opposite from the first toothy grin he gave me on our first meeting. I asked, "Why do you agree with off shore drilling?" Maybe I should have said "support" instead, but either way the democrats have made it apparent this is the quick fix solution on their end of the bargain as well. His response to me was mean, short and snappy.
"I don't agree with off shore drilling that's the point! We're already drilling everywhere!" His dismissive demeanor made me feel like my vote didn't count. Like he didn't have the time for me. The last time I saw a cocky attitude like this was at Fred Thompson in South Carolina, and that's not a can of worms worth opening all over again. Let's just say rude.
Um. Contradiction? I think so. So what's it gonna be donkeys? I'd say your views should probably unite ASAP.
